Jules Moigniez
Jules Moigniez was a French-born sculptor who picked up the Naturalism style of Pierre Mene and carried it to refinement. Born in 1835, Jules began sculpting birds of prey early in his life. Like his American counterpart Frederic Remington, Jules had the flair of standing a dynamic Sculpture on one small leg.
No other European artist of his time achieved the overall flow and movement that Jules captured in his works. Many of his colleagues were Romanticists -- while Jules was "Winging it!"
Unfortunately, Jules ended his own life at age 59.

"Fighting Eagles"
Size: 20" X 8" . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .$600.00
This may very well represent Eagles in combat. However, if you have ever witnessed two Eagles in "courtship flight" in early Spring you might well take this dynamic sculpture as just that, the pre-mating acrobatics of two raptors that mate for life.
"Eagle on Tree"
Size:
16" X 13" . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $600.00
Upon close inspection, this beautiful bronze sculpture might more closely resemble what is widely know as an Osprey in North America. There may be problems in translating from French to English that caused this possible discrepancy.
"Wild Boar"
Size: 28" X 42" . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .$1,200.00
There are presently at least two varieties of wild boar in North America. One was introduced into the Eastern U.S. where it has spread and is now hunted extensively. The second is the elusive Javelina of the Southwest. It is smaller, quicker and also hunted. This remarkable bronze sculpture is the most striking of any we have ever seen of either variety of this game animal
